Events

Anyone can offer dance classes—but we swing dancers want more! After work comes play. For us, that means social dance events, camps, and workshops! Here is an overview of what Swing Connection organizes beyond our regular classes.

We announce our events in advance under Aktuelles.

Minor Swing#

Finally, put those hard-earned dance moves into practice, dance freely, chat, or simply watch and marvel. „Minor Swing“ is our weekly social dance event for Lindy Hop, Balboa, Charleston, and Shag. DJs from the Swing Connection provide a varied playlist, covering everything from authentic 1930s swing to modern neo-swing. Admission is free. Beginners and anyone interested are always welcome. You can find more information on the website Minor Swing.

Swing Tea Time#

We regularly host a „Swing Tea Time.“ During these events, our dance studio fills with the aroma of freshly baked cakes and the sounds of Louis Armstrong, Django Reinhardt, or Ella Fitzgerald. Admission is free. Beginners and anyone interested are always welcome. You can find more information on the Swing Tea Time page.

Friday Night Balboa#

We host „Friday Night Balboa“ at regular intervals. You can find more information on the page Friday Night Balboa.

Spring Camp Mattstedt#

The two highlights of the year are our camps held every spring and summer. Head out into the countryside and either relax or dance the day away—whatever takes your fancy. The Spring Camp at Mühlenhof in Mattstedt is designed for everyone, from enthusiastic beginners to long-time dancers. It’s a whole weekend dedicated to nothing but Swing, giving you the chance to get to know your fellow dancers and instructors better. You can find more information on the website Mattstedt.

Swing Brunch#

We host a Swing Brunch at regular intervals.

Workshops#

From time to time, we offer workshops of various sizes on select weekends. These might involve learning a swing routine, solidifying the basics, or picking up new moves. We also offer intensive weekend courses for beginners.

Open House Day#

Once or twice a year, we host an open day to showcase our club and offer taster sessions for the various dances you can learn with us.

Performances and introductory workshops for private events#

We also offer performances and taster sessions for private events, such as weddings, birthdays, and corporate parties. Please feel free to send us an email at info@swingconnection-leipzig.com.

Swing Calender for Leipzig#

In the independent „Swing in Leipzig“ calendar, you will find an overview of all Swing events in Leipzig (classes, workshops, dance evenings, social dances, concerts).
